Levy was sprinting down the down the darkened streets of Magnolia as fast as her slender legs would take her.

Where's Jet and Droy?! She looked around frantically for her friends or really anyone.

The entire town looked deserted, except for one other person.

Levy looked over her shoulder and she could see a large silhouette running along the rooftops behind her.

Levy gasped and let out a choking cry of despair. It didn't matter how long or hard she ran, he would catch her, he always caught her.

Levy cried out as her foot suddenly caught on some piece of debris, and she fell down on the cold road.

Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she shakily got to her feet but it was too late.

A large shadow flew over her head as the figure jumped from the roof and landed with a loud thump in front of her.

Levy trembled and looked up at the red eyes that were staring down at her icily, like she was no more significant than an ant.

    "Gi-hi"

Levy woke up screaming and thrashing in her bed.

Still reeling in terror from her nightmare she glanced around her room, half-expecting to see Gajeel's hulking figure in her room, standing above her.

But there was nothing, she was in her room at Fairy Hills, alone.

    "
Just a dream, its just a dream, calm down. You're acting like a child,"

She chastised herself and brushed her blue hair from her face. She shivered and curled into a fetal position under her quilt and squeezed her eyes shut.

Gajeel was long gone, far away. Natsu had beaten the Iron Dragonslayer when Phantom Lord had destroyed the Guild a few weeks ago and he wasn't coming back.

He can't. He'd never even show his face in Magnolia after what happened.

Holding onto that thought like a life line she cuddled her pillow to her face and managed to drift back to an uneasy sleep.

Bullet; Blue

The next day Levy was walking back to the Guild with Jet and Droy in tow, she was aware of them going on about something but the main force of her attention was on scanning the crowd.

Secretly she was hoping that she might see Lu-chan and the others returning from their recent escapades.

It'd been a while since they'd left and she was anxious for her friend's return.

Especially after Juvia's arrival, the ex-Phantom Lord wizard had arrived a few days ago, practically on her knees begging the master to accept her into Fairy Tail and then afterwards explaining what had happened at this "Tower of Heaven". According to Juvia, Lucy and the others were alive and (somewhat) unharmed but it'd still make Levy feel better to see them for herself.

"Well what do you think Levy?" Droy asked her suddenly as they reached the newly rebuilt Guild.

    "W-what?"

"What kind of job should we go on today? I saw one for retrieving an artifact yesterday that'd be perfect," Droy beamed.

    "That sounds nice-"

"But we don't have to go if you don't feel up to it," Jet interrupted, "I mean with all the nightmares you've been having-"

"What?!" Levy shrieked , utterly mortified, as she spun around to face the duo.

Jet scratched the back of his head awkwardly,"We-ell... all of the dorm girls have been talking about it. They say they can hear you screaming in the night...you didn't know?"

Levy's face turned red with embarrassment, she'd thought her nightmares had been her own little secret, but apparently everyone in the Guild knew about them.

They probably think that I'm pathetic. And they're not that far off...

    "
I think it'd be good if she got out," Droy said to Jet, "It might help her get back to normal."

Levy frowned, slightly irritated that they were talking about her like she wasn't standing right in front of them. They some of her closest friends and all but sometimes they could be downright annoying.

No, it isn't them, its everyone. They all treat me like this but I guess its mostly my fault.

As if sensing her irritation at them, both members of team ShadowGear looked down at her nervously. "So what do you want to do Levy?" Droy asked bravely.

Levy sighed and looked down at her feet, "I'd rather not go on a job today...but it's not because I'm scared, I just...I'd like to be here when Lu-chan and the others comes back. We can go on a job afterwards, okay?" Levy added one of her trademark beaming smiles at the end to emphasize her point.

"Alright Levy!" Jet and Droy said happily in unison.

She smiled, it didn't take much to please them, she pivoted on her heels and skipped through the threshold of the Guild with Jet and Droy.

After splitting up from Jet and Droy, who wanted to go talk to some of the guys, Levy went to go chat with Mirajane at the bar.

While Mirajane was filling her in on the latest gossip ,Levy noticed for the first time all of the concerned looks the various Guild members were shooting her. A few of them were even talking behind their hands and gesturing towards her.

She shifted in her seat uncomfortably, did everyone seriously see her as some fragile little doll who couldn't handle a few nightmares? She sighed and trailed her finger over the counter, maybe they'e right...

Levy suddenly felt claustrophobic with everyone staring at her, she got up and quickly started towards the door.

"Levy?! Where are you going?" Mirajane called after her.

Levy turned around while she was opening the door to leave, "I just need some air, I'll be right ba....ooff!"

Levy started in surprise as she ran into someone with so much force she was almost knocked down to the floor. And would have been if whoever it was hadn't grabbed her shoulders to steady her.

"Oh, I'm sorry.." Levy said instinctively rubbing her forehead, What is this guy made out of? I feel like I've ran into a brick wall...

"Idiot! Why don't you watch where you're going?!" an irritated male voice grumbled above her.

Levy's eyes froze, she knew that voice....she'd know it anywhere, but she still looked up anyway into a pair of crimson eyes.

"G-G-Gajeel" Levy squeaked feeling herself start to involuntarily tremble with fright.

Images from last night's nightmare flashed through her mind. Her trembling increased. Gajeel looked down at her and saw she saw his eyes widen with recognition.

She winced a little as she felt the pressure on her arms increase slightly as he tightened his grip on her.

"Oh, its you," He said indifferently as he lifted her up by her shoulders and moved her out of the doorway and continued on his way into the guild with a confident stride, as if he belonged there.

Levy whimpered a little, she wanted to run from the guild, as far as she could get but her legs seemed to be frozen in place. Looking around, Levy saw that everyone in the guild seemed to be having the same problem too and was standing there silently, as if Gajeel had somehow paralyzed everyone in the room with his very presence.

"Get him!" Somebody shouted from the crowd of people breaking the tense silence. Everyone rushed forward towards the Iron DragonSlayer.

"STOP!" the authoritative voice master Makarov boomed from upstairs.

Everyone froze and looked up in synchronization at the master who was standing on the railing of the second floor.

Except Gajeel of course, who simply leaned against a pillar and crossed his arms smugly.

Makarov looked down at the wizards with his hands behind his back, and began speaking, "I know how most of you feel towards Gajeel" his eyes flicked towards Jet and Droy who'd been at the forefront of the attacking force from earlier,"  but...he's part of the Guild now."

Levy covered her ears at the literal uproar that statement caused, everyone was soon shouting and pointing at Gajeel, who was still leaning against the pillar.

"How could you do this Master?! After what he did!" She heard Jet yell. Levy inched towards the door as she saw several guild members gesturing towards her, she couldn't hear their words but she could guess what they were saying.

Levy quietly exited the guild and leaned against the door, still shaking. Gajeel's, here in the guild...what am I going to do?  Levy could feel her eyes tearing up.

"No," she said stubbornly to herself.

She wasn't going to cry, she knew that was what everyone was expecting from her.

To hide away and cry, well she was going to prove them wrong. This time she was going to be strong, so what Gajeel was in the guild? She could handle it. She was tougher than she looked.

Levy held her head up and wiped at her eyes and stepped away from the door.

It was lucky she did too because the second she moved away from the doors they flew open and an angry Gajeel strode out with a newly stamped on FairyTail mark on his arm.

All of her previous courage vanished instantly and she shied away from him.

Gajeel looked at her coldly but Levy thought she saw him incline his head ever so slightly at her as he continued walking down the street.

Levy sighed and lowered her head when he disappeared from view.

    Well...I'll try to be brave...
So I felt the need last night to write a (sort of...) Fairy Tail one shot, So ta-da! :squee:
May or may not write a GaLe story line in the future but  not sure when or if i will. I only wrote this because I felt the impulsive need to. But there will definitely be more fan-fiction in the future...
Anyway, sorry if you don't like it, but will be forever grateful if you do. :D (Big Grin)
